We carried out 2 projects for the Students Union building which is underground. The first was the refurbishment of the large student union bar and the following year we completely refurbished the large commercial kitchen.

The design team worked closely with the estates department to solve the challenging route of the commercial kitchen extraction from underground up into the central courtyard. Full construction plans were submitted for approval from the estates.

The installation team carried out the complete refurbishment of the bar to include the electrical and mechanical works, flooring, decorating and supply and installation of the bar and rear bar fixtures. For the commercial kitchen, the installation team carried out the hygienic wall cladding, works to the drainage and full electrical and mechanical works. We worked closely with the kitchen appliances and stainless steel furniture supplier for a hassle free installation. Black Circle have carried out 2 x projects for Plymouth University – the main SU Bar and the large commercial kitchen.

The Black Circle design team were instructed to design the Student Union reception areas at 2 different campuses over 2 years.

Our installation team carried out the flooring, ceilings, walls, electrical and mechanical and the bespoke joinery reception desks.

The Black Circle installation team were invited to tender for the fit out of a new bar in Swansea, starting with a large 5 bedroom house. Competing against 2 local construction companies Black Circle proved the most competitive and were instructed to carry out the works.

Numerous existing structural walls were removed and replaced with deep foundations for the new structural steel work, whilst keeping the existing ground floor and 1^st floor ceilings complete with the original ornate mouldings. The 1^st floors were strengthened to accommodate large public capacity, and doorways

widened to comply with fire regulations. Full internal fit out to include the 2 x bespoke bars. External landscaping works to accommodate a large patio area.

A full ‘design & build’ service to take an existing small 1960’s 3 bedroom house into a large modern 5 double bedroom house.

The design team carried out the initial design proposal, a successful planning application, building control and the structural calculations working in collaboration with our regular engineer. The complete interior was designed and specified by Black Circle’s design team, including the bespoke kitchen and oak stairs. The construction and installation team successfully delivered the complete project to include all landscaping, raft foundation, drainage, construction of new walls with structural steel work, complete new roof utilising attic trusses (for the 2nd floor). All windows are aluminium double glazed, and the rear bi-folding doors were the

biggest in Wales at the time at 9.4m width. The internal fit out was delivered to a high standard using natural oak, porcelain and marble.

All electrical and mechanical works managed by black circle project management team, including the underfloor heating to the ground floor and the ventilation system to the large rear kitchen and dining room.

The complete project was designed, managed and built by the Black Circle team.

The Black Circle design team created a modern orangery to accommodate the new dinning area. The design team managed the planning application, building control and structural steel design for the project.

The installation team carried out all the construction works and internal fit out, complete with under floor heating connected to the existing central heating system.
